Camera shots:
as the episode begins an aerial shot is visibly present. it shows an extremely high- angle shot panning down a high rise office building to the busy pedestrian activity of New York city down bellow. from the clothes of the pedestrians to the era of the cars its easy to tell that this series it based upon the workforce in the 1960s.
the camera then cuts to a tracking motion as we pusue a short journey of the employees going into a lift and back out again on their way to work
Showing an established shot presenting us with the setting within the office obtaining an array of desks and workers.
Sound:
By having the implementation of 1960s Jazz music, it enhances the liveliness of the atmosphere keeping the audiences attention engaged into the series.
In the office it obtains synchronous sound. this is when the sound is expected of the atmosphere of the series or film its set in. in this case the setting were in is in the work firm so type writers clicking and discussions upon work would be what we would hear.
Throughout the segment of the episode we hear Non digetic sound. this is when a Sound source is neither visible on the screen nor has been implied to be present in the action. in the case of the episode this is music. placed in the episode to enhance the liveliness hearing a faster sound increases the in speed of the episode.
Editing:
As the clip segment comes to a close we are presented with two businessmen having a discussion. As each has dialogue the clip cuts between them. this is an abrupt transition siting between one shot to another in this case its used to maintain continuity of the scene.
Within the clip shot-reverse-shot is also used. this occurs when the women are discussing the work criteria and purpose of the women in the office for appeal for the men. Shot-reverse-shot is when a character is looking at another off screen however the character currently on screen is looking back. This shows continuity through the scene understanding who in which they're talking to despite not being visually present.
Mise-en-scene
this is what is placed within the scene. can either be props to signify the era relations between characters, the setting and also lighting. within the clip it contains type writers , Cigarettes and also rapid responses between characters showing a cocky persona and comfortable nature between characters.
